Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome/Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder

7 Facts

1.

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a group of connective tissue disorders which can be inherited.

2.

EDS causes hypermobile joints and differences in skin movement and wound repair.

3.

There are at least 6 different forms of Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD)

4.

People with HSD often find that their joints dislocate easily and this can happen multiple times and in multiple joints.

5.

Cuts may occur and can be large.  They may need medical attention to help them heal.

6.

Abdominal pain can be a recurring difficulty faced by those with EDS.  This can lead to Irritable Bowel Syndrome and food and drug allergies.

7.

Fatigue is a very common symptom of EDS/HSD.
